Introduction
==============================================
SLDT is intended for installing the device type descriptions 
of ABB's products with LON interface into the installation
and configuration tool LNT 505, which is a PC software developed
and delivered by ABB Oy, Substation Automation in Finland.

For configuration of the LON interface for ABB's products, 
LNT 505 is required, i.e. it is not possible to configure 
these products using any other commercially available tool.

All versions of following products are supported by SLDT:

RET 521 
REC 561 
REL 501 
REL 511 
REL 521 
REL 531 
REL 551 
REL 561 
REB 551 
REO 517 

For RET 521 two different device type descriptions are
included to be used depending on if the target
RET 521 terminal has optional voltage control function
for 8 parallel transformers (VCTR8) installed or not.
The VCTR8 option is only available as from RET 521 v2.4.

The installation program SLDT consists of the following 
files:

setup.exe   	A self installing file that 
		completely installs the device 
		types that are selected by the 
		user.

readme.txt	Description of SLDT software package.



System requirements
==============================================
Hardware:	A PC capable of running LNT 505.

Platform:   	Windows 3.1x, NT, 95, 98 or 2000.

Software:  	LNT 505 version 1.0.1c or later 
		installed.


Installation
==============================================
The installation program displays a couple of dialogue 
windows before the actual installation is started. The 
installation may be aborted at any time by pressing the 
button 'Cancel'.

The installation procedure is as follows:
1. Run the executable file setup.exe.
2. The installation program welcomes you. Read the 
   information and press button 'Next'.
3. Select the destination directory, i.e. the top directory 
   where the LNT 505 is installed. 
   Use the default directory or browse to the correct 
   directory, then press button 'Next'.
4. Select components, i.e. device types, to install by 
   checking the corresponding check boxes, then press 
   button 'Next'.
5. You will get a message that you now are ready to 
   install. Press button 'Next' and the actual installation 
   will start.
6. The installation is completed. Press 'Finish' button.

Next time LNT 505 is started the installed device 
types may be found in the list of device types. 
Device types that were previously installed are updated. 
New device types are added to the LNT 505.
